THis is a wonderful image which captures the atmosphere of a "viva voce" examination in anatomy extremely well.

This painting of examiners conducting a viva at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, by Henry Jamyn Brooks, signed, 1894 is on display in the Hunterian Museum at Lincolns Inn Fields.
